Isn't that actually pretty fair for a 993 though? All 993's are expensive/overpriced due to the nostalgia last of the air-cooled cars.
45k miles isn't high, either.

$40,000 is a helluva lot closer than $4000. Even by oppo's "don't pay more than a grand for it" standards, $30-40k would seem reasonable depending on condition.

It seems like all RWD 993s with the stick are going up in price, even if cab.
Only somewhat cheap 993s I've seen are tiptronic cabs. Nobody wants those...
